Restoring St. Michael’s Church, Elswick

One such recent project involved St. Michael’s Church in Elswick, carried out on behalf of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle. After one of the church’s stone pillars was damaged in a car accident, our team was called in to ensure the structure was safely rebuilt to its original state. We organised traffic management to facilitate the safe removal and reconstruction of the pillar, ensuring it was rebuilt to plumb and seamlessly integrated into the existing structure. In addition to the pillar, the church’s main gates were repaired and decorated, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the entrance. Our careful approach to this project demonstrates our commitment to precision and respect for the historical significance of the sites we work on.

Grade II Listed Church of St. John, Gateshead

Another notable project saw us working on the Church of St. John in Gateshead, a
Grade II Listed Building, for Gateshead Council. The scope of work included:

• Repointing the main entrance battlements to reinforce structural integrity.
• Dismantling and rebuilding the left-hand stone pillar, ensuring it aligned
  perfectly with the original design.
• Supplying and fitting new copings, a ball finial, and reconstructing sections of
  the pyramidal pier cap.
• Undertaking repointing and repairs to the boundary walls, preserving the church’s historical charm.

This project exemplified our ability to handle the complexities of listed building restoration, ensuring all work was carried out in line with heritage preservation standards.
