We’re proud to announce that MGM Construction has been shortlisted for the 2025 Constructing Excellence North East Awards. This recognition comes as a result of our exceptional work on the Beamish Football Centre project, which has been nominated in both the Regeneration/Conservation and Retrofit categories.

A Landmark Project for Community Sport

The Beamish Football Centre redevelopment in Stanley, County Durham, was a major project for our team. The original building was a basic structure with a green metal roof and limited visual appeal, offering no terrace or proper spectator facilities.

We completely modernised the centre with a flat-roofed extension, contemporary materials like new brickwork, metal cladding, and large windows. A new balcony and tiered seating now overlook the pitches, greatly improving the matchday experience. Inside, we added a training area, upgraded changing rooms, and a new bar with a commercial kitchen, turning the venue into a true community hub.

The transformation attracted national attention, with the BBC covering the story and a visit from Lisa Nandy, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, alongside our Managing Director, Phil Burridge, highlighting the impact of investing in grassroots sports facilities.
