At MGM Construction, our strength is in the people behind our projects. We are pleased to introduce you to our latest team member, Gary Singleton, who has recently joined us as a Contracts Manager. He comes with a wealth of knowledge and industry experience and an understanding of the construction industry from the ground up.

Gary’s experience is broad and diverse. He comes from a carpentry and joinery background and understands the technical details and craftsmanship that underpin successful projects. Over the years, he has progressed through a variety of roles

including Foreman, Site Manager, Project Manager, and Contracts Manager, building a comprehensive understanding of how projects develop from concept to completion. This has provided Gary with a broad skill set in the field of construction, covering all aspects of the job.

Because of his experience, he is able to combine his technical expertise with strong leadership and operational oversight to ensure that projects are completed effectively, safely, and to the highest standards.

A Key Role in Project Delivery

In his role as Contracts Manager, Gary will play an instrumental part in ensuring that projects are completed in a way that adheres to legal, financial, and operational requirements. In this position, he acts as an interface between clients, suppliers, contractors, and other construction project stakeholders, assisting in the upkeep of efficient communication among all parties.

Working closely with project managers and quantity surveyors, Gary will oversee programme timelines, budgets and forecasts while ensuring procurement and subcontractor coordination align with project goals. He plays an essential role in identifying possible hazards early on, preventing cost overruns, while assuring every phase of the construction progresses with minimal complications.

Experience That Adds Value

Before joining MGM Construction, Gary worked as a Project Manager as well as Contracts Manager. In these capacities, Gary was responsible for managing

contractual risks, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing budgets, as well as ensuring that the construction teams worked collaboratively towards meeting key objectives.

His responsibilities included addressing contractual issues, managing variations, and making sure the projects were resourced adequately to meet the performance indicators, with a keen focus on health and safety compliance.
